Ways to Deliver Videos (storage and accessibility)Once you make the video, you want to get it out to your target audience. For me, this is the hardest part of the process. Each situation is different and so you have to be patient through this process, especially the first time you are doing this. But, once you have decided on the best way of doing this, then it doesn't take near as much time. So breathe and know it's going to be ok!
MAKE CONTENT AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS In My Opinion: To make content available for others, the best way is to upload it to a video website.
Uploading it to these sites makes it available for students to stream content without downloading heavy media on their devices that will take up a lot of room. SAVING YOUR ORIGINAL VIDEOS Best Practices: Get yourself an external hard drive. The amount of space needed depends on how many videos you intend to make and which program you use creating them (Some programs create large files). If you plan on make a lot of videos, go bigger. If you only plan on making a few, go small.) Then, make it a practice of moving your movies over to your external drive and deleting the copy on your computer. The MacBook Airs fill up fast, especially if your movie files are huge. I now make it a practice of deleting my files AFTER I have uploaded it to a video web site. I only store ones that I think I would reuse in the future. It is already on the web, so if it is not important to me to have the original, I don't keep it. I DELETE IT! Any questions, Email me |
